We. Practice. Law.
The Smotherman Law Firm is a full-service firm. While most of our experience is in Criminal Defense, Personal Injury, Real Estate and Construction matters, we have previously handled Medical Malpractice, Probate, Contract, Sports and Entertainment, Family, and Business Dispute matters. We have also written wills, trusts, operating agreements for various forms of businesses and partnerships.
The Smotherman Law Firm also routinely handles matters in the following counties: Harris County, Galveston County, Fort Bend County, Montgomery County, Chambers County, Brazos County, and Dallas County.
Our Criminal Defense Practice will handle all misdemeanors, and most felony cases. Even if you haven't been charged with a crime and are under investigation for a historic act or issue (we cannot counsel you on a potentially criminal act that will take place in the future), we are available in a capacity as a counselor.
Our Personal Injury Practice will handle cases involving innocent people being injured by the negligence of others. Whether it be a motorcycle accident, an 18-wheeler accident, a car accident, a slip and fall, an injury from a dangerous or defective product, or even medical malpractice, if you have been hurt by someone or something else, our firm would be honored to represent you so that you may be compensated for the injury you are a victim of.
Our Real Estate Practice will handle any negotiation and litigation involving property in addition to landlord-tenant disputes on behalf of fellow landlords, formation of a real estate holding company, asset protection, legal consulting regarding future real estate activities, and we also handle construction matters on behalf of property owners and contractors.
A note about our Family Law Practice: as the firm is transitioning, we likely will not be accepting family law cases outside of CPS matters. However, if you need help we're happy to put you in touch with one of the lawyers we've previously trusted with family matters who will handle all divorces, adoptions, and family planning matters which includes, but is not limited to: pre-nuptial agreements, post-nuptial agreements, inter-spousal gifts and transfers, living trusts, testamentary trusts, and more.
While we practice in some areas of law more than others, we are licensed to practice every type of law in the State of Texas. The Smotherman Law Firm is a law firm that practices law and fights for people when they need a capable law firm in their corner.
